The science behind your results

Accurate results are the foundation of meaningful health insights. Here's how we ensure every test meets the highest standards of laboratory medicine.

From sample to insights

What happens after you post your sample

01

Sample collection

Your finger-prick blood sample is collected using a CE-marked collection device designed for reliable capillary blood sampling. Clear instructions guide you through the process to ensure sample quality.

02

Laboratory analysis

Your sample is analysed by a UKAS-accredited laboratory (ISO 15189) using the same validated methods and equipment as NHS hospitals. Every batch includes quality controls to ensure accuracy.

03

Clinical validation

Results are reviewed against reference ranges established from large population studies. Out-of-range and critical values are flagged automatically before release.

04

AI-powered insights

Our AI generates personalised health insights based on your results, including explanations, lifestyle recommendations, and GP referral flags where needed. All insights are reviewed by our clinical team.

Accreditation & quality

The standards we hold ourselves to

UKAS Accreditation

Our laboratory partner holds UKAS accreditation to ISO 15189 — the international standard for medical laboratories. This is the same accreditation required for NHS hospital laboratories.

Quality management

Every analytical batch includes internal quality controls and participates in external quality assessment (EQA) schemes, ensuring results are accurate and reproducible.

Data security

Your health data is encrypted in transit and at rest, stored in UK data centres, and processed in compliance with UK GDPR. We never sell or share your data with third parties.

What does UKAS accreditation mean?

UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) is the sole national accreditation body recognised by the UK government. A UKAS-accredited laboratory has been independently assessed and confirmed to meet ISO 15189 — the international standard specifically designed for medical laboratories.

This means the laboratory demonstrates competence in pre-examination, examination, and post-examination processes, including sample handling, analytical methods, result reporting, and quality management systems.

In practical terms: your results are produced using the same validated methods, equipment calibration, and quality controls as NHS hospital laboratories. You can share your Syara results with your GP with confidence in their accuracy.
